Deposit and corrosion inhibitor
DESCRIPTION: AT 1123 is a liquid blend of selected poly-phosphates which react to precipitate calcium hardness in the boiler as a sludge and prevent formation of hard calcium carbonate, sulfate and/or silicate scale. The finely-divided, non-adherent calcium phosphate sludge remains suspended in the boiler water until removed via the blowdown.
FeaturesAT 1123 contains phosphate sequestrants, polymers and antifoam. The phosphate is used to prevent calcium hardness depositing on the heat transfer surfaces. The sequestrants are used to form soluble heat stable complexes with constituents which act as binders for normal water sludge. The synthetic polymers prevent suspended solids of any kind from adhering to internal boiler surfaces and will gradually remove existing deposits. The antifoam helps preventing boiler water carry over.
ADVANTAGES: · Prevents calcium scale deposits. · Forms nonadherent sludge. · Cost-effective. A phosphate precipitation program can be the most economical where significant hardness levels exist in the feedwater. · Clear and easy dosage control.
DOSAGES: AT 1123 dosages depend upon many factors including the chemical characteristics of the makeup water, boiler operations, percentage of condensate return, etc. Approximate requirements can be estimated as ¾ pound of treatment per pound of calcium hardness entering the boiler. Individual dosage recommendations are made for each installation by your Water Services Ltd representative, based on his survey. Dosage is controlled by a simple color comparison test.
FEEDING: AT 1123 is compatible with most boiler water chemicals and can be blended with them in the treatment feed tank The dosage of AT 1123 is adjusted to maintain an excess of phosphate in the boiler water. AT 1123 may be fed directly from the drum. The preferred feedpoint is to the steam drum through the chemical feedline, although feeding to the preboiler system is also acceptable. Specific recommendations will be made by your Water Services Ltd representative for each installation.
